Mrs. Geeta Ghai was born in 1956 in an educated family. Her parents were in the noble profession of education. Her father Prof. M.L. Sabharwal joined as a Professor of Physics at DAV College, Jalandhar and retired as Head, Department of Physics from Govt. College for Boys, Shimla. Her mother was trained in Fine Arts and taught students the art of embroideries and intricate cutwork in the 1950s, when there were not any such courses being offered to students in those days in the undergraduate and post graduate courses. So, Mrs. Geeta Ghai had a refined descent which was both intellectual as well as creative. She is the eldest of her siblings.
Mrs. Geeta Ghai did her Matric in year 1972 from Govt. Girls School, Una. She took admission at Govt. College, Una and completed her B.A. in 1976. She did her M.A. in Hindi in 1977-79 from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Besides being good in studies, she also excelled in athletics and was declared the Best Athlete. In Drama too, she was declared as the Best Actress in Youth Festival. She was the member of the Student Central Association in 1974-75 for her leading participation in Sports and Youth festival.
She had a liking for Fine Arts and Fashion Technology since her childhood, which she received in heredity from her mother. As a student, she actively participated in many competitions on paintings and won good number of awards. She kept nurturing her passion of fine arts by not missing any single opportunity that came her way and participating in short courses being conducted by the Government of India through its Nehru Yuva Kendras that allowed her learning and experimenting such as Fabric Colour Paintings, Landscape paintings etc.

She married Mr. Ajay Ghai, a businessman of Kapurthala and the couple got blessed with a son. It was in the year 1994, that her husband Mr. Ghai observed that her passion need to be cultured further and encouraged her to get back into learning so she got enrolled in PG Diploma in Dress Designing at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala and balanced managing her family and education. She used to work late in the nights with able support from her husband and the result was more than encouraging for her and her family when she cleared the course with Distinction in 1995.
Citing immense potential in her, she was offered to work in the college and she was more than happy to get that offer letter and started contributing to the students’ careers. She was encouraged by her colleagues, well-wishers and close friends to complete her post-graduation and later she completed her degree of M.Sc. Fashion Technology while serving in college.
She was in the forefront of all the college activities and always took a lead role in setting high standard in teaching and contributing to the students learning. Despite facing few major health issues about her kidneys during her career at college, she never compromised on her commitment towards the college and students. Looking at her dedication the management promoted her to the position of Head, Department of Fashion Designing.
She was appreciated for her contribution and exhibiting the sound knowledge of her subject during the visit of NAAC, Bangalore. She coordinated her college team’s participation in the Youth Red Cross Training Cum study Camp in the year 2005 conducted by the Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh, held at Shimla. While in college, she got many opportunities to participate in DD Punjabi programmes on topics like Dress sense for Working Women and Best out of waste.
Presently, she is a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala as an Entrepreneur.

After leaving the college, Mrs. Geeta Ghai with her unflinching enthusiasm, energy and her stupendous management skills started a Designing venture – ‘Titlee Designer House’ in the year 2016. She takes care of customers’ requirement of contemporary design, comfortable fashion and fabric that provides comfort to the wearer. Her efforts have made Titlee Designer House as a renowned one in a very short span, she has highly satisfied clients that are like who’s who of the city Kapurthala and also from other parts of India, USA, Australia and Middle East . She is supported by her Daughter-in-Law Pooja Ghai who draws her personal characteristics and mannerisms from her and this duo of Mother and Daughter in Law work as a great team that is customer centric with focus on customer satisfaction.
She thinks, she cannot be what she is today, without the tremendous and unfailing support of all her guides, well-wishers, friends and students. She can be summed up as one person who believes in only one thing that is:
