Department of Economics under the aegis of Research and Development Cell, Hindu Kanya College Kapurthala organized a Workshop on Measurement and Scaling Techniques in Research on 4th April 2023 to promote and guide the faculty and students for quality research work. Dr. Robin Kaushal, Assistant Professor from Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana graced the occasion as the Resource Person, who explained the concept of measurement and scaling, four levels of measurement scales for reflecting the views and observations of the target strata of population or while evaluating a survey or research work. The Resource person elaborated on the techniques of designing, types of questions, responses, and various statistical tests applied in research. She also highlighted the reliability and validity of responses to the questionnaire for fruitful and valuable research. The Resource person satisfied the queries asked by the faculty and students at the end.
Motive:- To appraise faculty and students about the significance of questionnaire, phases of its designing, measuring and scaling techniques in Research, their validity and reliability of recorded responses.
Outcome:- The Faculty and Students were enlightened about the types of questionnaire, responses and their measuring strategies, techniques of scaling and testing while preparing a questionnaire. They also came to know about the reliability and validity of responses.
